FAQ

Frequently asked.

How do I read an appliance error or fault code?

Every brand stores fault codes a little differently, but the concept is the same: the control board detects a reading or component behavior outside its normal range and stores a code, often alongside an indicator light. Our brand-specific code pages explain what each one means and how it’s typically displayed on your model.

Do error codes mean the same thing across brands?

No — even when the numbers look similar, the same code can mean something completely different on a Sub-Zero versus a Wolf or Viking unit. Always check the code against the correct brand’s list.

Can I clear a code myself?

Power-cycling the unit clears many codes temporarily, but if the underlying cause hasn’t been fixed, the code returns. Clearing a code isn’t the same as fixing what triggered it.

What does a repair cost, and is it under warranty?

It depends entirely on what’s actually wrong — a $99 diagnostic confirms the cause and gets you a written price before any repair begins, waived if you move forward. If your unit is still under an active manufacturer warranty, we’ll let you know and point you to the authorized network, since we specialize in out-of-warranty repairs.
